Form 49A : PAN card application form
Form 49 A is required to be submitted to the income tax department to get a PAN number for individual.
It is a simple form and only proof of identity and proof of address is required to be submitted along with the application form at any income tax office in India. The PAN card is sent on the communication address and there is no need to go and collect the same from the Income tax office.
PAN number is becoming mandatory day by day in most transactions and as per new income tax rules in 2010 income tax authorities can impose up to 20% of tax deducted at source (TDS) if the recipient of the income fails to provide his PAN to the agency giving this amount.

Any document from the following is to submitted as proof of address and proof of identity. Only photocopy is to be attached along with form 49A

* Documents submitted, as proof of address for serial numbers 1 to 7 should not be more than six months old from the date of application.
Important Note
- Those individuals / companies already allotted a ten-digit alphanumeric PAN shall not apply again, as having or using more than one PAN is illegal as per Income tax laws in India
- Other than this request for a new PAN card with the same PAN or/and changes or correction in PAN data can be made by filling up the form for ‘Request for New PAN Card or/and Changes or Correction in PAN Data’.

How much amount is required to submit form 49 A?
On Rs. 97/- and for that also you get a Receipt
if you are submitting at the organization itself then it would cost you just 97 only.
On Rs. 94/- and for that also you get a Receipt

and affix a photo, address proof, id proof
then submit to the pan office & pay rs.94
then you will get a new card within 15 days
what is age limit for senior citizen for ay 2010-2011 and ay 2011-2011 . is it 65 or 60.

what the income tax slab of the year 2012-2013
I am staying and working in bahrain from past few years. I have not yet applied for PAN Card. Every time I come and time flies off. I am not able to apply. I am coming in next month.Should I come and apply or I can send filled documents to my parents so that they can apply; and; by the time I come back to India, I will get PAN Card. Also please do let me know whether for me Form 49A or 49AA will be applicable.
